Architectural Vase

This vase form was inspired by the architecture of the University of Cincinnati. The campus is known for its "starchitecture". Meandering pathways and staircases connect students from residence halls to classes, past buildings designed by Peter Eisenman, Frank Gehry, and Michael Graves (to name a few). Throughout my five years at this university, I fell in love with the staircases - some were purely functional - a means of getting from here to there. Others existed as gathering points where students could sit outside along the Main Street of campus, typing away on lap tops or hanging out with friends. The form of this vase was directly inspired by these staircases
